Creative seventh- and eighth-grade students in teacher Gladys Jacobsen’s Advanced Art Class had two displays of clay sculptures they created permanently installed in the school library in a ceremony on Thursday, June 6, 2019. The project was funded by the Willamette Art Center in cooperation with a grant from the William S. Walton Charitable Trust.

Along with Mrs. Jacobsen, Willamette Art Center Outreach Coordinator Pam Prosise and the Willamette Art Center’s Nikki Svarverud worked with students on the project. Both are artists-in-residence with the Willamette Art Center. Also in attendance for the installation ceremony were Coni Raikes, Willamette Art Center Board President, Stephens Principal Jennifer Madland, Art Teacher Gladys Jacobsen and her students, with Jason Gundlach, AVID Coordinator and Instructional Mentor.

Great work students!
